So now I know all the Old Wives’ Tales are not meant to be believed! LOL.. Of all the symptons I had, signs showing that I am expecting a baby girl but turns out to be a boy! Kekeke.. My face is super “buang” now. There’r lotsa big and hard acnes on my face. I did went for facial on regular basis but still the acnes are getting very bad. Not only that, my chest are having red spots (pimples lookalike) too. I’d told Dr Chan about this yeterday and he said its normal due to hormones changes. Well, I was told to visit my GP and get some cosmetic cream to apply. Its so troublesome! Sigh.. Worst still, I notice my back has some pooping out also, but not as much as my chest. I can’t wear a V-neck now! I start taking the DHA pills today. The smell wasn’t too nice.. Yucks. But what to do? They costs money! I must make it a point to finish the whole bottle even if it taste like shit. Brrr….. :p Labels: 2nd Trimester Sunday, March 30, 2008 Am back from my check up! Yahooo…~O~ My apptment was set at 850am and we reached at about 840am. Has my usual urine test, weight taken as well as my blood pressure. Weight hasn’t gone up! In fact I am 600grams lighters today as compared to the last visit 5 weeks ago. LOL.. Went down to the lab at Level 2 to have my blood test. Its for HIV antibody purpose which every preggies got to do it. And I opted for the Triple Test as well. Since the Triple Test is also a blood screening test and I am already getting my blood withdraw to the large tube, I might as well do it altogether!! Well, its my 1st time taking a blood test and I really got no idea how painful its gonna be like. The nurse was very professional and polite. She got me to clench my fist at 1st, then start to open and close my palms. She then told me me to stop whatever I’m doing, and she’s gonna poke the needle in my veins. I diverted my attention by looking straight, at the same time was chanting Namo Amitabha inside my heart, hopefully the pain is endurable. To my surprise, the pain lasted for only about 2 seconds when the needle was poked in. The next thing I saw was the large syringe full with my fresh blood. They divided my blood into 3 tubes (full) and send me away after that. As it’s a Saturday, hence the result will only be out on Tuesday. Was told by Dr Chan that they will only call me if there’s anything wrong! No calls = good news! Hookay, I better pray that I don’t rcv any calls from them. Good news is what I expect! Went up to Dr Chan’s clinic and waited for another 40mins before its my turn. Did my scanning on the tummy… saw little baby playing inside and even gave us a High 5^!! Hahaha.. I tried asking Dr Chan if we will get to know the gender today? He tried very hard to find out for me as little baby was sort of crossing his legs and kneeling down. At last, the answer is out! Little Baby is a boy! We saw the “mini hotdog”. LOL.. Though its not a “hamburger” but “mini hotdog” is fine too. Dr Chan recommended me to go for a FA Scan (detailed scanning) 4 weeks later which will costs us another bomb! The detail scan will be done at Thomson Medical Centre by another gynae which he high recommended to us. Asked for a MC today.. and I was given a day without question asked! Hehehe.. not too bad to keng for a MC nowadays ya. Bought the DHA pills from Dr Chan since he managed to get 25% off from GNC for bulk orders. Am glad that I did not buy them impulsively the other time when I went to GNC. Store is selling at 78bucks whereas I am getting for 55bucks only from Dr Chan. Isn’t it a good deal? Kekeke.. Nonetheless the bottle can lasts me for 2months! Wohooo.. I was also told by Dr Chan that I should try taking the Obimin tabs whenever I am feeling better, afterall its a multivits. Hookay, I told myself I shall take it at least on alternate days now. Labels: 2nd Trimester Thursday, March 27, 2008 How time flies. 2 more days to my 4th gynae visit at Gleneagles. Am still comtemplating whether to take the Triple Test or not. Reasons? Many of them lor… Firstly, the test is only 70% accurate. The result is ratio pobability and no further conclusions will be given. Secondly, if the result is positive, sometimes an amniocetesis will be carried out which is very risky. I don’t wanna take this risk, really. I think its not neccessary. Thirdly, little baby already passed the NT scan during my last visit. So how? I am confused. Grrrrr.. I was given a month to think if I wanna take the Triple Test but I have not made up my mind yet. During the last scanning, Dr Chan wasn’t able to see if little baby has bird bird or not. Hehehe.. I hope we will find out on this Saturday!!! Regardless of whether little baby is a boy or girl, we are equally happy as long as he/she is healthy! Lalalalalala… I am in my 16th week now (4 months). Appetite has got better but I am still not eating much during dinner time. Lately I am addicted to the tuna bun and egg roll bun at St Leavens. I’d spent a bomb buying them for breakfast everyday, and some times I even go there twice in a day! Now I know where all my money goes to.. Last week, hubby brought me and Mum to Beauty World at Bt Timah. Been many years since I last went there. The place is more like a ghost town now I would say but the shops are still surviving. I happened to pop by a shop, a rather big one. They have lotsa maternity clothings leh! And they are simply dirt cheap! The material and the design won’t lose to other branded maternity wear at Vivo City or Marina Sq lor. Now that my tummy ain’t really obvious yet so the bottoms can’t really fit me. Am going back to the shop one fine day to grab all their bottoms when my tummy gets bgigger. Heehee..~ Labels: 2nd Trimester Wednesday, March 12, 2008 I’d stopped taking the pink tablets (supplements) - Obimin. The smell of the freaking tab is making me wanna puke all the time. I can feel that “something” is stuck at the throat there and times when I burped, the horrible yet puky smell will just my appetite for the day goes down the hill like nobody business. Called up the Dr Chan’s clinic and checked with nurse over the phone. She put me on hold for quite some time. I supposed she checked with Dr Chan regarding my enquries then. Was told that its fine if I wanna stop taking the Obimin since I ain’t the malnutrition type. The Obimin serves as a Iron pill actually but I am taking enough iron everyday (I supposed) so I shan’t worry too much. Well, after reading the forums, many mummies have the same encounter as me too!
