Been busy bonding with my precious boy thus the lack of posts. Nonetheless, I already started 进补 already... The tonic & herbs that we bought from 余仁生 are really good. So far, I had 3 times of 生化汤 to remove the clogged blood (which Dr Chan said there's no signs of seeing any clogged blood thru the ultrascan already),4 times of 花旗参汤 with black chicken which is really yummy,2 times of上等屯汤,2 times of 杜仲补腰汤 and drinking chicken essence every morning before breakfast. Well, I've yet to start taking D.O.M cause am suspected to be allergied to liquor in the confinement food so Dr Chan advised me not to start taking Yomeishu and D.O.M first. Sigh...

Called up the buffet catering over the weekends already. Has decided to get Neo Garden since its quite popular among many mummies in the forum and thru recommendation of my SIL as well. When Baby Reiner had his full month celebration the last time, we had a taste of the dishes from Neo Garden & I would say the food is quite alright. As for the full month cakes, we had ordered from Choz (of course!), Hubby & I will picking up the cakes from the shop on Sunday morning then head down to the temple @ Bedok for praying to Grandma & Dad before coming back for the buffet lunch which will arrived after 1pm.

Will be inviting some colleagues/friends and immediate relatives from Hubby's side. Hopefully Jared won't be cranky on that day & get frightened by the crowds. =)

Just came back from Dr Chan's clinic for my post-natal check up. Left Baby under Mummy's care. Decided not to bring Baby along cause I'm afraid that he will be cranky when we bring him out. Anyway, I reached the Dr Chan's place 10mins earlier so I went to the admission counter to settle for the baby bonus thinge. Luckily there wasn't any Q at the admission counter and everything was settled within 5mins.

Waited for about 30mins at the clinic before it's my turn. Well, in between the wait, Dr Chan headed to the delivery suite for a delivery & he said he would be back in 15mins. I was really impressed that he really made it back after in 15min's time. LOL.. see I said he's fast already. Based on my birthing experience, I knew he's really fast and accurate! Hahaha..

Anyway, the check up was fine. Dr Chan said that my uterus has shrunk back, weight has been regained.. everything is normal. Will be going back to see him in 2 mths' time for a PAP smear. I reckon gonna spend a bomb again. Today's scanning & consultation already costs me $214.00

Received a baby hamper from company on Thursday evening. Though the contents inside ain't something fantastic (hahahah!) but still better than nothing & of course I understand its the thoughts that count! Anyway, I shall say thanks to the management of my company mDR Limited, on behalf of Jared.

Brought Jared to see Dr Yvonne this morning cause he had "yellow tears" since yesterday when he cries. Was worried that its due to the mild jaundice that he's having which had deteriorated or what.. so we quickly brought him down to see Dr Yvonne at Sunset Way today.

According the the PD, babies shouldn't have tears now when they cries till the 2nd month. The "yellow tears" that I'd noticed is actually a kinda discharged from the eyes cause of the tissues near the nasal which was not fully developed & when baby cries, the blocked ducts flow back to his eyes causing yellow sticky discharge which is normal. Dr Yvonne gave Jared some eye drops and the yellow discharge will slowly goes off in 2-3 days' time. Phew~!! At last, we are relieved that nothing serious happen to Jared. Nonetheless, his jaundice isn't getting worse, neither its severe now so he need not be pricked on his little feet anymore. Another relieve! Phew!!

On a side note, I was using the weighing scale at Dr Yvonne's clinic & I weighed myself. Wahahaha.. I'd regain back to my pre-pregnancy weight. What a shock! Though I think I still have "loose" tummy with many many stretch marks but never did I expect that I'd already 不知不觉 lost weight (6kg)..

I am into the 9th day of my confinement. Its terrible! I tried bathing with the herbs but I think my sensitive skin is allergied to the herbs, somehow my whole tummy area & thigh area appears with rashes & its super super super itchy!!!! I'd been wanting to use the water from the heater and bath but Mummy just wouldn't allow me to do that. Nonetheless, even the water for brushing teeth also must be boiled. WTH?! I am really suffering like shit during this confinement period. Its only the 9th day! I still have a long way to go manz.. Oh dear.

Hubby says he's gonna bring me see the GP if the rashes got worse. Anyway, I started my malay massage today already. The malay lady came just now and it was my 1st session with her. So far so good lor.. she not only massaged my tummy, my back, my thighs, my arms.. she also massaged my head. LOL.. Quite shiok lar. Am gonna engage her for 5 sessions. Hopefully by the end of the 5th session, I'm able to see some "results". She'd binded me with a cloth binder which is super super tight now. Somehow its like a corset thingie.. Am gonna endure the "tightness" till tomorrow afternoon, otherwise I can remove it tonight before I go to bed. Well, I think I should be able to tahan until tomorrow bah. At least, the binder is not as irritating as confinement! Confinement = Jail Term!~

As for Baby Jared, he's getting more and more cranky nowadays. Been sleeping in the day time & super active in the middle of the night. Guess he already got mixed up with AM and PM now so he's super wide awake when its 3am. Duh.. Not only that, he's a funny baby I tell you. He cries all the time when Mum bathe him, but he stops immediately when we splash water on his back. He seems to be enjoying the bath very much when we clean his back, at times he even tried to stand on his feet. So cute..

Taken on the 5th day. Looking a bit yellowish, so sad. But still very cute!!

Taken on the 6th day. Sleeping comfortably inside his swinging highchair.

Last but not least, this is my gynae who helped to deliver Jared.

Photobucket

Anyone who wants to find a gynae, can always look for me & I would recommend Dr Chan from Gleneagles. Don't play play huh, see his hair so white but he's driving an Audi R8 lor. He's really a friendly gynae and always very cheerful.

Brought Jared to Dr See's clinic at Sunset Way for his jaundice level check this morning. I was pretty upset when I saw how his little feet got pricked and blood was taken for testing. Its such a long tube and I dare not see. Hubby was the 1 who was by Jared's side looking at the whole process. Jared was crying so loudly & helplessly. At that moment of time, my eyes were full of tears & felt like crying. But Mummy says I can't cry during my confinement period so I just control my tears.

Apparently Jared was able to come home with me upon discharged the other day cause his jaundice wasn't quite serious then. So I'd been praying hard that he won't turn more yellowish for the next few days and was told by Dr See that I can sun bathe him in the morning before 10am. Well, we are just unlucky that there wasn't any sunlight for the past few days so we didn't managed to sun him. Sigh...

Mummy quickly hugged Baby after the blood has been taken. Poor Jared was pacified immediately and stopped crying. As my milk supply is still quite low & I felt really guilty for not giving him enough milk so we are giving him FM too. I hope my milk supply will keep on coming in and be able to pump as much as I can.

Went back to Gleneagles with Hubby to register Jared for his birth cert. We'd engaged 游龙子 to get a name for Jared and was given 10 names to choose from. Thus, we'd decided on 林隽展 as his chinese name.

Dr See called at 5pm+ just now and informed that Jared need not be admitted to hospital for his jaundice. Phew~! I was relieved!! We gonna monitor him for these 2 days and if he turns yellow again, we have to send him to see Dr See and prick his little feet again. Little Jared is a good boy. He will be alright & I gonna sun bathe him tomorrow if there's sunlight.

On 10 September 2008 (Wednesday) morning at about 6am, I was waken up by some "tummy ache". Thinking that it was just some stomach discomfort, I ignored it but then the pain came again quite regularly with interval of 17mins. Checked myself in the bathrm and realised there was a "show". I quickly woke Mum up and told her I might be in labour soon. I quickly had some oatmeals and crackers, took my bath & washed my hair before waking Hubby. As I was afraid of the long labour hours in the labour ward, so I dragged my time and only admit to hospital at 10am+.

Upon reaching the hospital lobby, the concerige guy wheel me up to the labour ward on Level 5. Epidural administered at about 1140am and Dr Chan came by to check on me at 1pm.

The rest of the day was the waiting game till about 8pm, I was already 8cm dilated and 9pm I was fully dilated. Delivered my precious baby boy at 2133hrs with 3 pushes. The whole process was painless and I would say Dr Chan was really fast. Baby Jared was put on my chest before I could react ...

I was wheeled back to the post-natal ward only at 12am++ as the nurses needed to monitor my epidural effect. I was so freaking hungry since afternoon and I quickly ask for some biscuits when I reach the post-natal ward. Am lucky that Hubby & Mummy decided to change my 2 bedder room to the single bedded one so that I could rest and with more privacy. Apparently the single bedder was full when somehow I don't know how the nurses managed to play magic & gave me a room. Baby was sent to me after his bath and he smell of Johnsons & Johnsons. So nice... =D My epidural went off at 3am+ and that was the time when I can feel the pain on my wound. The nurse gave me some painkillers which really work wonders but I stopped taking them on the 2nd day. Hubby stayed in the hospital with me for that 2 nights and he will rotate with Mummy to keep me accompany while he comes home to have his nap and bath.

My Meals!!

Well, I was discharged the day after and the hospital came horribly expensive. But what's most important is that Baby is healthy =) Everything is worthwhile. It was a good experience, though the after process is really pain! I am gonna have sleepless nights, I know... now that I am a Mummy and I need to pump milk milk for Jared every 2-3hrs.

By the way, thanks to those who had visited me at the hospital and yours gifts. Jared would definitely love them as much as I do.... :p

Went for my weekly check up this morning.. Dr Chan did a cervix check on me, and I was only 1cm dilated. As my EDD is on Friday which is 12 September 2008, so Dr Chan says if still no 动静 on Friday, then I gotta admit to Gleneagles Hospital on Sunday night at 8pm for induction on Monday morning. Heee.. =D

Well, I do hope that Baby will co-operate & come out naturally within this 4 days so that he don't have to end up being induced to come out. LOL..

This is crazy!!

Today is the 8th day I'm staying home and I'm getting so freaking bored can! Basically I'd been watching TV most of the times, napping whenever I am feeling nua, tidied up the study room and bedroom, wiping the dusts I could see, surfing the forum, watching MobTV... I am so bored! I wondered how those Mummies who don't work and waiting for their baby to pop during the 10 months survived thru? Ain't the days passing by really slowly? Suddenly.. I miss working so much & I think I am wasting my leaves to stay home and wait....

Mummy is down with flu & I hope she will recover ASAP cause she'll be helping to look after Baby for me after I deliver, as well as my confinement. GOD knows when Baby decides to come out. Hiakz... =D

My fingers are stil as sore. Whenever I clench my fist, I can feel the pain and it only happens to my left hand lor. Must be lack of calcium? LOL.. But I drank lotsa milk & been taking calcium pills faithfully leh.

Hiya people.. I am still at home waiting for Baby Jared to pop. Hadn't been active these days cause I am simply too nua to log on to bloggers. I nap almost everyday in the afternoon for about 2 hours. LOL.. Anyway, I doubt Baby wants to come out so soon yet. According to my 1st ultrasound scan, my EDD is 12 Sept 2008 whereas my detailed scanning EDD shows 9 Sept 2008. Anyway anyhow, I am still waiting "patiently" for Baby to pop. Been talking to him & asking him when he wants to come out and see Mummy, Daddy and 外婆。 And all I get from him was kicks & punches. Si bei naughty boy.

Yesterday, Hubby brought me and Mum to Junction 8 for some shoppings since he knew that we (Mum and I) are getting bored at home. Had our lunch at Din Tai Fung.. slurpss~!! There was a mini mooncake fair at the main hall and we made our way there to try some of the snow skin mooncakes. The East Ocean one was kinda nice and the their samples for samplings were cut into rather big pieces. Hahaha.. Went to Kiddy Palace and saw a musical mobile for playpen which is quite cute but then didn't to get it.

Many mummies from idobaby.com/forum has delivered to their prince/princess. OMG! When will be my turn wor?

Monday, September 1, 2008

Went for my 38th week check up today. Appointment was at 3pm but we reached the clinic at about 3.30pm. Waited for about 1½hr today cause Dr Chan was away at the delivery suite and I guess things got corked up cause the clinic was so crowded when we reached.

Took my weight and did the usual urine test. Then, we had a quick bite at the cafeteria and I had my favorite sandwiches. Hehehe.. As of last week till today, I gained about 500grams and Baby is weighing 3373grams, a weight gain of about 300grams. Mummy tagged along with us today and its her 1st time seeing Dr Chan. hehehe... The 4D scan actually shows that Baby is moving actively inside my tummy. At first, he used his hand to cover his face & when Dr Chan told him to move a bit and show Grandma his face, then he really move his hand away. He even opened his mouth wide and Dr Chan managd to capture an image of him. This time round, the 4D scan is very clear. We saw his sharp sharp nose & small mouth with his eyes close. So cute! Hahaha..

My next check up will be a week later (provided if I don't deliver within this week). I am getting a bit excited & scare now. Been thinking which of the 3 labour signs will happen to me? Maybe I should start laying the absorbent underpad that I got from the pharmacy tonight, just in case if my water bag burst and stained the mattress.

JARED♥MUMMY

" He's our first and precious little one,
living in his perfect world "

Late at night when all the world is sleeping
I stay up and think of you
And I wish on a star that somewhere you are
Thinking of me too
Cause I’m dreaming of you tonight
Till tomorrow, I’ll be holding you tight
And there’s nowhere in the world I’d rather be
Than here in my room dreaming about you and me
Wonder if you ever see me and I
Wonder if you know I’m there
If you looked in my eyes would you see what’s inside Would you even care?
I just wanna hold you close but so far ..
All I have are dreams of you
So I wait for the day
To take the courage to say how much I love you
Yes I do
I’ll be dreaming of you tonight
Till tomorrow, I’ll be holding you tight
And there’s nowhere in the world I’d rather be
Than here in my room dreaming about you and me
